Naked Sea Butterflies (Clione limacina) are the largest species of sea angels, reaching up to 8 cm. They are gelatinous, mostly transparent and are small swimming sea slugs. These angels have terminal mouths common to mollusks, and tentacles to grasp their prey.
They are found between the surface and a depth of 350 meters. Like plankton, it is a pelagic species. It is known to migrate vertically towards the surface in the night.
